London: day 1
First Official Day in London!
My first official day in London was such a whirlwind - I wish I had had the presence of mind to take more photos - but I was just in sensory overload. This day was jam packed and I definitely got my fair share of steps in!
Things I did:
1. Trafalgar Square
2. The National Gallery (its free!)
3. Walked by Her Majesty's (and basked in the glory of Phantom)
4. Stopped to take that picture of the Bates car... Bc - duh!
5. Sat in front of Buckingham Palace - watching the guards march around (and assigning characters and dialogue to them all)
6. Walked through St. James Park (saw some very questionable swans. Was asked by tourist if they were actually swans. hmm.)
7. Struggled with saying the word CAL - VAL -RY not CAL-VRY.
8. Walked and Walked.
9. Big Ben.
10. Parliament.
11. A rock was in my shoe. Had to stop on a bridge to remove the offending stone.
12. Walked some place - no idea what it was called. There was street performers and some kinda festival.
13. Caught the tube - was actually quite nervous about it - but all was well.
14. tube was swarmed with young children on school trip... was very loud but amusing all the same.
15. Fish and Chips in Camden Market. I found a quiet spot and enjoyed them while sitting cross-legged on cobblestone.
16. Back on tube
17. King's Cross - Platform 9 3/4
18. Back on the tube
19. Oxford Street
20. Lush - purchasing of a scrubee and bath bomb!
21. Record Shop.
22. Pret a Manger - bc I was hella thirsty at this point.
23. Marble Arch... Park? Dunno what it was called.
24. crap cell service.
25. Leicester Square/Picadilly Circus
26. Back to the hotel!
27. Changed outfits. Praise!
28. Back out for food.
29. 4 pound Sandwich and steak flavored chips. (this is not weight - but price... I did not eat a heavy sandwich)
30. dinner picnic in hotel.
31. sleep.
That was a fulllll day!
